‘The Bodyguard The Musical’ will Star Christine Allado
Christine Allado, our homegrown artist best known for her roles as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the original West End cast of Hamilton, and for originating the role of Tzipporah in the West End musical The Prince of Egypt, is set to play Rachel Marron in 9 Works Theatrical’s upcoming production of The Bodyguard The Musical.
Inspired by the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the musical reimagines the story of global superstar Rachel Marron and the former Secret Service agent assigned to protect her. As danger draws near, so too does an unexpected love.
The Proscenium Theater
First staged in the West End in 2012, with a book by Alexander Dinelaris based on the 1992 film, the upcoming Manila production marks the show’s Southeast Asian premiere. It will be directed by Robbie Guevara, with musical direction by Daniel Bartolome.
The Bodyguard The Musical features iconic songs recorded by Whitney Houston, including “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” “Run to You,” and more.
The show runs Fridays to Sundays, from September 26 to October 19. Tickets are priced at P6,695 (Orchestra), P5,974 (Orchestra Side), P5,459 (Orchestra Side), and P4,120 (Dress Circle), and may be purchased via TicketWorld.
