‘Prinsipe Bahaghari’ Set for Palawan Leg this February
Mulat Theater’s Prinsipe Bahaghari, which recently concluded its rerun at the PowerMac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit Makati last January, will be heading to Palawan this February.
It will have a two-show run on February 23, 3pm and 7pm at the VJR Hall, Provincial Capitol. The event is open to the public. The upcoming staging is made possible through the Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with the Palawan LGU.
Prinsipe Bahaghari, the Filipino puppetry adaptation of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, is written by Vladimeir Gonzales (adaptation and translation) and directed by Aina Ramolete, who also serves as projection designer. The puppet play revolves around the journey of the Rainbow Prince in search of a companion o help care for his flower, the Gumamela, and keep her safe in his home planet. His encounters with a number of extraordinary characters ultimately lead to his realizations about the significance of his relationship with the flower.
Also in the creative team with Gonzales and Ramolete are Amihan Bonifacio-Ramolete (Assistant Direction), Steven Tansiongco (Video Design & Animation), Ohm David (Set Design), Arvy Dimaculangan (Music Composition & Sound Design), Jep Gabon (Music Composition), Gabo Tolentino (Lights Design), Darwin Desoacido (Costume Design), Clariz Caingat and Aina Ramolete (Puppet Design), Sig Pecho (Additional Shadow Design), and Nap Rivera (Puppet Creation).
