The Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati (CPAT) is celebrating its first anniversary this July with Open Doors, a one-night-only benefit concert that aims to raise funds for artists and community groups.

The event will feature pieces from past productions that have been staged in CPAT, performed by our very own musical theater artists. Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo will be performing from The Sound of Music, Poppert Bernadas and Shaira Opsimar will be singing a duet from We Will Rock You, and all 3 of them, together with Markki Stroem and Lara Maigue, will be performing songs from Mula sa Buwan.

The evening will be headlined by Regine Velasquez and will feature performances from the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, and Steps Dance Studio. It will also include special appearances from National Artists Alice Reyes and Ryan Cayabyab. Directed by Floy Quintos, this event is part of the year-long celebration of Circuit Makati’s 10th anniversary.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards venue grants, which will reduce the rental costs for community-based groups. We believe that the opportunity to perform on a stage such as ours will not only boost creativity but also broaden artistic dreams and ambitions. It all begins when someone opens the door,” says Christopher Mohnani, Director of the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.

Open Doors will be happening on July 14, 7:30pm at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater. You can buy tickets at Ticketworld.
