Jonathan Bailey Cast as Fiyero in ‘Wicked’ Movie
Wicked movie director Jon M. Chu has just announced on Twitter that Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey will be playing the role of Fiyero.
Chu says, “He’s perfect, they’re perfect. They’d be perfect together. Born to be forever….. I am too excited to pretend this hasn’t been happening. We have a Fiyero!!!!”

Bailey will be playing the role alongside Cynthia Erivo, who has been cast as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande, who has been cast as Glinda.
Bailey won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical in 2019 for playing the role of Jamie in the West End revival of Company.
Chu also announced last April that the adaptation will be split into two films, the first one to be released in December 2024 and the second one in December 2025.
Penning the script are the musical’s creators, Winnie Holzman (book) and Stephen Schwartz (music and lyrics). Schwartz also announced that the movie will include two new original songs.
