Tanghalang Pilipino’s Handa Awit online concert series is back for its fourth installment, this time with songs from Sandosenang Sapatos.

Original cast members Trixie Esteban and Jonathan Tadioan return, together with Tex Ordoñez-De Leon and Eunice Pacia, to perform a medley of songs from the musical. The full production streamed online from June 12 to July 12 on the iWant app and website earlier this year.

Sandosenang Sapatos follows wheelchair-bound Susie, who dreams of fulfilling her father’s dream of having a ballerina for a daughter. Adapted for the stage by Layeta Bucoy and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio (who also serves as set designer and co-costume designer), the musical is based on a children’s story written by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan. It was staged in July 2013, and in December 2013 and 2014 at the CCP Studio Theater.

Other members of the show’s creative team include Noel Cabangon (composer), Joed Balsamo (co-composer, co-arranger, musical director), John Batalla (lighting designer), TJ Ramos (sound designer/guitarist), Rocky Gathercole and James Reyes (costume designers), and Gerald Mercado (choreographer).

The first three installments of the company’s Handa Awit online concert series feature songs from Mabining Mandirigma and Aurelio Sedisyoso, Noli Me Tangere the Musical and Walang Sugat, and Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal, performed by their respective cast members.

This online installment is directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna, with musical arrangement and direction by Ejay Yatco, sound engineering by TJ Ramos, and video editing by Aggy Mago.
