The MET Opera Streams More Free Productions Online

For the past few months, New York City’s Metropolitan Opera has been streaming their productions for free. In a statement on their website, the company says that “… during this extraordinary and difficult time, the Met hopes to brighten the lives of our audience members even while our stage is dark.”

Every performance is only available for a 23-hour period, from 7:30pm EDT (7:30am Philippine time) until 6:30pm (6:30am Philippine time) the next day on their company website. The weekly line-up includes performances from the past 14 years of cinema transmissions.

The streaming will be on its 31st week this August 3-9. You can find this week’s complete line-up below.

Monday, August 3
Mozart’s The Magic Flute
Starring Ying Huang, Erika Miklósa, Matthew Polenzani, Nathan Gunn, and René Pape, conducted by James Levine. From December 30, 2006.

Tuesday, August 4
Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann

Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra
