Now Streaming: Metropolitan Theater’s Reopening Event is Streaming
After years of renovation, the Metropolitan Theater is finally open again. Sometime this year, the venue staged an original musical, Lapulapu ang Datu ng Mactan (which you can still watch online for free).
Last December 10, the re-opening of the theater was also its 90th anniversary celebration. Hosted by Issa Litton, the event featured National Artist Ryan Cayabyab and performers like Celeste Legaspi, Dulce, Bo Cerrudo, Jon Santos, Arman Ferrer, Gab Pangilinan, OJ Mariano, Sheila Valderrama-Martinez, Lara Maigue, Bituin Escalante, and more.
The Inauguration event was directed by Dexter M. Santos. Scriptwriter is Adriana Agcaoili, Music Director and Arranger is Krina Cayabyab, Production Designer is Mitoy Sta. Ana, Lighting Director is John Batalla, Video Designer is GA Fallarme, Costume Designer is Darwin Desoacido, with Choreographer Stephen Viñas.
You can stream the event on the METphOfficial Facebook page from 6PM tonight until 10AM tomorrow. Performances also feature songs from musicals like Ang Huling El Bimbo, Rak of Aegis, Katy! The Musical, Ang Larawan, as well as a host of other local and Broadway musicals.
