LISTEN: “Memory” from Cats Movie by Jennifer Hudson
A full version of Memory performed by Jennifer Hudson in the upcoming Cats movie has just been released!
Hudson is set to play Grizabella, the Glamour Cat who is known for singing the iconic song. The track also features vocals from Francesca Hayward, who plays Victoria the White Cat. Cats opens in US cinemas on December 20.
We first heard Hudson sing a few lines from the song when the first trailer was released last July. Joining Hudson and Hayward in the cast are Taylor Swift as Bombalurina, Jason Derulo as The Rum Tum Tugger, Judi Dench as Deuteronomy, James Corden as Bustopher Jones, Rebel Wilson as Jennyanydots, Idris Elba as Macavity, Ian McKellen as Gus the Theatre Cat, and Robert Fairchild as Munkustrap.
The film is directed by Tom Hooper, with a screenplay by Hooper and Lee Hall and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler.
An international touring production of the stage musical, featuring Joanna Ampil as Grizabella, recently closed at The Theatre at Solaire.
