Lea Salonga will return to Broadway’s ‘Once on this Island’

According to Broadway.com, Lea Salonga will return to ‘Once on this Island’ to play Erzulie, the role she originated for the Tony-winning revival.
She will take the place of Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams, who has exited the role less than two weeks into her run per doctor’s orders. Salonga will be back on the Circle in the Square Theatre from December 27 through its closing performance on January 6, 2019. Understudy Cassondra James will be taking over the role from December 12 to 26.
It has also been recently announced that Salonga will be taking on the role of Mrs. Lovett starring opposite Jett Pangan in the Manila Production of Sweeney Todd starting October 2019 at the Theatre Solaire.
