Dance MNL is a biennial festival focused on uniting and celebrating the Filipino dance community.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines and Ballet Philippines in cooperation with Philippine Ballet Theatre and Ballet Manila present Dance.MNL: The Philippine Dance Festival. This biennial festival brings the Filipino classical, modern and contemporary creations to the stages of the CCP, Aliw Theater and Star Theater on 14-26 June 2016. Supported by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Manila Broadcasting Company, this inaugural festival will feature 11 performances, a two-week dance intensive and a conference, gathering more than 500 dance professionals in the metropolis.
In this video, Ballet Philippines’ Monica Gana and Garry Corpuz perform “2”, with music by Vivaldi and choreography by Ronelson Yadao. They will be presenting this at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition. Ballet Manila’s Joan Emery Sia and Romeo Peralta dance an excerpt from “Giselle”, and Philippine Ballet Theatre’s Regina Magbitang and Ian Ocampo perform “Just Give Me a Reason” from the company’s 2015 production, “Dancing in One Voice”.
