‘Six The Musical’ May Be Coming to Manila
Hit British musical ‘Six The Musical’ may be coming to Manila, and sooner than we think!
According to this recent article from the New York Times about the musical’s fate, a production in the Philippines of the musical is “in the works” along with mention of the show’s Chicago production to return in the coming year.
Before the pandemic hit, the musical was in previews on Broadway and touring productions were already underway in the UK & Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and several cruise ships, as well as the Arts Theatre on the West End where it was scheduled to run until January 2021 before it was forced into a lengthy hiatus.
Nominated for five Olivier Awards in 2019, it is a modern retelling of Henry VIII’s six wives where they tell their story in a pop concert, singing about who suffered the most in Henry’s hands. Book, music, and lyrics by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss.
