1896, PETA’s historical musical about the Philippine Revolution, will be streaming again from March 5-6, 2021 on ticket2me.net. It previously streamed late last year as part of the company’s K.E.-POP lineup.

1896 is PETA’s sung-through musical about the revolt led by Andres Bonifacio against the Spanish rule. Staged in the run-up to the Philippine centennial celebrations in 1998 with subsequent reruns after, 1896 starred Ariel Rivera as Emilio Jacinto, Rody Vera as Andres Bonifacio, and Bodjie Pascua (alternating with Lionel Guico) as Emilio Aguinaldo, and Noel Cabangon as Jose Rizal.

Directed by Soxie Topacio, the musical features a libretto by Charley Dela Paz and music by Lucien Letaba.

You can buy tickets at ticket2me.net for P120. The upcoming limited run is part of PETA’s Click and Play Stream Series for 2021 that includes other hit musicals like Care Divas, Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang, Si Juan Tamad, ang Diyablo, at ang Limang Milyong Boto, and William.
