‘Pamanang Pahina’ is a New Theater Show for Young Audiences

August is widely known as ‘Buwan ng Wika’, and what better way to celebrate than for young audiences to appreciate a local language through storytelling from one of the country’s professional theater companies?

This month, Tanghalang Pilipino is premiering their new monthly offering, ‘Pamanang Pahina’, featuring children’s literature written by local authors, performed by members of the TP’s Actors Company, with visuals from Anino Shadowplay Collective.

This is part of Tanghalang Pilipino’s PansamanTanghalan and the Pantawid ng Tanghalan fundraiser to help them bring artistic presentations during these times of social distancing. You can donate via KTX, or direct deposit:

The first story, “Ang Bagong Kaibigan ni Bing Butiki” by Yna Reyes and adapted by Nono Pardalis, is now available. Other children stories in the lineup include Luis Gatmaitan’s “May Giyera sa Katawan ni Mark” for September and “May mga lihim kami ni Ingkong’ for October (also by Gatmaitan).
