Now Streaming: ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ 2012 UK Production
The Shows Must Go On YouTube Channel is once again streaming the 2012 UK production of Jesus Christ Superstar: Live Arena Tour in time for Easter weekend.
The production is a contemporary re-imagining of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock musical. It follows the last seven days of Jesus leading up to his crucifixion as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
Filmed as an arena rock opera, the cast features Ben Forster as Jesus Christ, Melanie C as Mary Magdalene, Tim Minchin as Judas, Chris Moyles as King Herod, Alexander Hanson as Pontius Pilate, Pete Gallagher as Caiaphas, and Michael Pickering as Peter. It is directed by Laurence Connor.
