Miss Saigon Broadway Run Set to Open in Spring 2017
Et Voila, on Broadway stage all, welcome to… Dreamland!
Miss Saigon will be returning to New York for a limited run starting March 1. This announcement was made by producer Cameron Mackintosh, as reported by Playbill.com. Boublil and Schönberg’s celebrated musical is going to be directed by Laurence Connor, who previously directed Les Miserables and School of Rock.
As previously reported, the Broadway cast will feature two of the veteran stars of the recently-closed West End revival of the musical. Eva Noblezada will be reprising her role as Kim.

The stellar, Olivier award-nominee Jon Jon Briones will once again be playing the role of The Engineer. He has previously been cast in the same role in the Germany, US, Asia and Philippine runs. Prior to being the Engineer, Briones was part of the ensemble of the original London production in 1989. He has come a long way from his humble beginnings as an Electrical Engineering student who has been doing small things in theater, to being cast as the Engineer (not the electrical kind.) When asked about his experience, Briones says that he can write his life story with Miss Saigon as the foundation. He remembered that at the beginning, he didn’t even know who Cameron Mackintosh was — and he certainly has come a long way since!

The Opening Night for Miss Saigon in Broadway is on March 23, 2017 and will end its run on January 14 of the following year. Later in the year, Miss Saigon will also be launching a North American tour. No word yet as to who will be cast in the tour.
