“Matilda” was last staged in Manila by Atlantis Theatricals in 2017 starring Felicity Kyle Napuli, Esang De Torres, and Uma Martin alternating in the titular role. Based on the 1988 children’s novel of the same name by Roald Dahl, the story follows a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. It is adapted to the stage by Dennis Kelly (book), with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin,

The Royal Shakespeare Company production opened in the West End in 2011 and on Broadway in 2013, winning 7 Olivier Awards including Best Musical, and 5 Tony Awards.

Casting, ticketing information, and further details will be announced soon.
