The Les Misérables Broadway revival has hit its 1000th performance on August 14th, from its opening on March 23, 2014.

But onto sadder news: Broadway will be hearing the people sing for the last time (in a long time) on September 4, 2016.

The beloved Cameron Mackintosh-produced musical Les Misérables revival will be closing on Broadway this September. After two and half years, the show will close on the fourth of next month.

Although the revival has performed unevenly at the box office, Mackintosh was still pleased with its overall performance.

Broadway will have produced 8,202 performances of Les Misérables by the time it closes.
