According to an article from the New York Times, producer Cameron Mackintosh is bringing a revival of Miss Saigon to Broadway come 2017.
“The production, which began in London last year with revisions to the original book, a new song and a new look, is directed by Laurence Connor, who is now represented on Broadway as the director of a ‘Les Misérables’ revival and the new musical “School of Rock,” which is currently in previews.”
Eva Noblezada, who currently top-bills as Kim in the West End, and Filipino theater actor Jon Jon Briones, who currently plays The Engineer in the same run (who happens to have done the role previously in Germany, in the US, in Asia, and in the Philippines), will reprise their roles on Broadway.
Briones was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical in this year’s Laurence Olivier Awards for the same role. The West End run will close on February 27, 2016.
