Disney’s Live-Action Mulan Sets 2018 Release Date

Let’s get down to business!

A live-action movie version of Disney’s Mulan has been set on November 2, 2018. This has been one of the most exciting announcements since the release of the live-action Beauty and the Beast trailer, which revealed Emma Watson playing the lead role of Belle, as well as the movie’s release date in March 2017.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is doing a worldwide search for a Chinese actress to play the much beloved Heroine.

Jurassic World’s Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver were brought aboard to rewrite a spec script for Mulan, originally written by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin and purchased by Disney in 2015.

Filipino Tony-award winner Lea Salonga was Mulan’s singing voice in the 1998 Disney film. Below is a video of her singing Mulan’s Reflection at the D23 Expo last 2011.

Any guesses as to who will play Mulan?
