Bituing Walang Ningning, the winner for Best Musical Production at the recently concluded Aliw Awards, comes back on January 8 at Resorts World Manila.

According to Inquirer,

“The all-Filipino production ‘Bituing Walang Ningning: The Musical’ took home six awards out of a possible seven nominations at the recent 28th Aliw Awards held at the Star Theater in CCP Complex .”

The production “…reaped multiple recognitions including Best Actor in a Musical for Mark Bautista, Best Actress in a Musical for Cris Villonco, Best Actor in a Featured Role for Ronnie Liang, Best Actress in a Featured Role for Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, and Best New Female Artist for Monica Cuenco who plays the lead role of Dorina Pineda in the critically acclaimed play.”

‘Bituing Walang Ningning: The Musical’ brings to life a story that has transcended Philippine entertainment. Originally told over a serialized comic strip by fictionist Nerissa Cabral, the story was made into a blockbuster movie in 1985 and was then re-made into a hit television series back in 2006.

The show had its initial run from June until July of last year, and began its re-run last October with an even tighter script.
