Avenue Q’s Manila Cast Reunites this November!
After almost 10 years since Atlantis Productions’ Avenue Q opened in the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza, the cast is going to be back for a reunion concert at 12 Monkeys this November!
The cast members, which include OJ Mariano, Felix Rivera, Rachel Alejandro, Thea Everley, Jamie Wilson, Frenchie Dy, Aiza Seguerra, Joel Trinidad, Rycharde Everley, Teenee Chan, Carla Guevara-Laforteza and Noel Rayos, will be split into 2 dates– some performing on the 22nd, while others on the 29th.
Atlantis Productions’ Avenue Q was such a big hit that it had 4 successful runs in Manila, and 2 touring runs in Singapore. The show is a hilarious, satirical, coming-of-age comedy about the reality of growing up. It is noted for using puppets alongside theater actors who serve as their puppeteers.
The show officially opened on Broadway in 2003, where it won 3 Tony Awards– Best Score, Best Book, and Best Musical. The book was written by Jeff Whitty, with music and lyrics by Jeff Marx and EGOT (Emmy, Grammy’s, Oscar and Tony) awardee Robert Lopez (Book of Mormon, Frozen).
