Written by Dingdong Novenario, with musical direction by Myke Salomon, ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo’ had a sold-out run from July 20 to September 2. Using the songs of iconic 90’s rock band ‘The Eraserheads’, the musical tells the story of three friends who have drifted apart in adulthood until fate reunites them to confront their haunted past. Directed by Dexter Santos, the show stars Gian Magdangal, Tanya Manalang, Jon Santos, OJ Mariano, Reb Atadero, Topper Fabregas, and Boo Gabunada.

You can find ‘The Eraserheads’ frontman Ely Buendia gracing the gala night last July 27 with his presence in this video by Resorts World Manila.  “I really liked it. It’s awesome,” he said in the interview. “I was telling the people here how unexpected everything was… unpredictable pala. I really liked that.”

He adds, “This show showed me how beautiful those songs are and how funny those songs are… and how sad those songs are… And I never really appreciated it until I sat down in the audience and watched these awesome actors and singers and musicians perform it.”
