The Arts Research and Training Institute in Southern Tagalog, Incorporated (ARTIST, Inc.), one of the new regional partners of Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), in partnership with The Japan Foundation and LINANG Arts and Culture Network, is bringing the annual LIKHANDULA festival via online platforms on November 25-29, 2020.

Now on its 4th year, LIKHANDULA International Arts Exchange and Collaboration is a gathering of artists, cultural workers, performers, cultural collectives, performing ensembles, theater companies, arts managers, and cultural organizers from the Philippines and from other countries such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, India, and the USA. Locally grown art groups such as Tanghalang Pilipino, Sining Banwa, and Ang Grupong Pendong will also join the festival.

With this year’s theme of COLLAB: Imagined Spaces and Multiple Voices, delegates engage in the production of contemporary art genres and come up with creative output that speak of their various cultural and artistic backgrounds and experiences. Audiences and participants can expect creative talks, workshops, joint performances, and virtual exhibits.

Because of the risk that the pandemic has brought to everyone, the 5-day festival is going to be held online. Nevertheless, LIKHANDULA still aims to serve as a platform for conversations about art and culture practices among different members of the creative community, and to share imageries and realities towards inclusivity.
