12th Gawad Buhay Awards Performers, Hosts Announced
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards will be streamed online through TheaterFansManila.com’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, and Philstage’s Facebook page on October 8 at 8pm.
This year’s awards night will be a hybrid of recorded performances (safety guidelines and protocols were observed during the shoot) shot at the PETA Theater Center, and of live segments that will be captured from the winners’ homes, where they will be making their acceptance speeches real-time.
For this year’s awards night, the following shows are eligible: Philippine Opera Company’s “Passion“, The Sandbox Collective’s “Every Brilliant Thing” and “Dani Girl“, Philippine Educational Theater Association’s “Charot“, Tanghalang Pilipino’s “Coriolano“, “Lam-Ang“, and “Katsuri“, Repertory Philippines’ “Father’s Day“, “The Dresser“, “Miong“, and “The Quest for the Adarna“, and Twin Bill Theater’s “Dancing Lessons“.

The 12th Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards will be hosted by Phi Palmos and Meann Espinosa. People who are set to perform include the cast of Lam-ang starring JC Santos, the cast of Charot, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez for Passion, Carla Guevara Laforteza for The Quest of the Adarma, and Felicity Kyle Napuli and Lorenz Martinez for Dani Girl. Gary Valenciano is also singing a song from Freddie Santos’ First Name, while Gab Pangilinan is set to perform an emotional tribute.
