At 3pm today, CCP Online started streaming Perlas ng Silanganan (Pearl of the Orient Sun) on its YouTube channel.

The show was staged at the CCP Little Theater last October 10, 2019. Through CCP’s Cultural Exchange Department (CED), the collaborative dance drama about Visayan culture and traditions features four leading regional performing groups– the Sinukwan Kapampangan Performing Arts of Angeles City, Pampanga; Maskara Theater Ensemble of the University of St. La Salle Bacolod City; the Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe Rondalla from NCR; and the Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) of MSU-IIT Iligan City.

With concept, music and direction by Dr. Steven Patrick C. Fernandez and choreography by Melvin Pascubillo, this performance captures centuries of Philippine history.

Just like other shows in CCP Online’s line-up, Perlas ng Silanganan will only be available for one week. CCP Online brings HD and archival recordings in theater, dance, visual arts, film, literary, and workshop events from CCP’s Cultural Content Digital Archives to audiences online.
