Anna in the Tropics will run from March 13-April 5 at the Onstage Theater of Greenbelt 1, while Tabing Ilog the Musical opens on March 7 at the Dolphy Theater.

Pangilinan was last seen as Young Joy in Ang Huling El Bimbo. Her other featured roles include playing the lead singer of The Shirelles and Marilyn Wald in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Roxane in Mula sa Buwan, and Daisy Hilton in Side Show.

Get to know a little more about her in our Quick Minute feature. You can watch the condensed and edited video below.

Which play or musical influenced you the most?

It was Once on this Island. It was my non-negotiable.

If you weren’t in theater, what would you be doing?

I don’t know, honestly.

What was the first theater production you remember seeing?

It was Little Mermaid, Joseph the Dreamer, and Miss Saigon. Oh, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

What got you into theater?

I was maybe 7 years old. My mom forced me to join a Trumpets Playshop musical theater class.

I’m a big fan of…

Stella Cañete Mendoza. I’m also a big fan of Roselyn Perez. But I’m also a big fan of Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo. I know that’s not allowed, I said more than one. But yeah.

Best advice you’ve ever received.

My dad. When I was a kid, he used to tell me, every week, do one thing you’ve afraid of.

First stage kiss.

It must have been my blueREP newbie production. It was Rem del Rosario.

Ultimate dream role.

It used to be Ti Moune. Well, it is still Ti Moune actually from Once on this Island. Some would say I’m too old for it, but uhh, Ti Moune! Just kidding. (laughs)

Last show that made you cry.

Company, Passion. Every show makes me cry. Wow. This show made me cry, during rehearsals lang. I sang Ang Sabi Nila, and I balled my eyes out.

Hardest song or scene you’ve ever performed.

Whatever Joy did in Ang Huling El Bimbo, that was the hardest.
