‘Twenty Questions’ by Theatre Titas Goes to Davao

After its latest staging last April, Theatre Titas’ Twenty Questions starring Isabelle Prado as Yumi and Jel Tarun as Jigs is going to Davao for a limited run this September, in cooperation with Educhild.

Founded on the principle that the parents are the primary educators of their children and that a
harmonious spousal relationship is a vital foundation for effective parenting, Educhild conducts research,
workshops, seminars, and conferences where parents, students, educators, and other professionals can
acquire valid principles, techniques, attitudes and values on marriage, family life and child upbringing.

Twenty Questions is a one-act play that finds college friends Jigs and Yumi locked in a hotel room for 24
hours as part of an annual barkada tradition. To pass the time, they partake in a game of twenty
questions, which forces them to open up to each other and talk about their views on love, life, and sex.

First penned in 2003, the Gen-Zfied treatment by director Cheese Mendez explores how ideas about
relationships written two decades ago might still resonate with today’s audience and their points of view.
How do today’s youth understand love? Are love and sex mutually exclusive?

Twenty Questions obviously now has a life of its own. Sometimes when I watch Twenty Questions I ask
myself, ‘Did I really write this?’ And it being sold out during the last run shows how it is still relevant to
today’s youth. In an era when falling in love has become a myth, we still need plays that remind us it is
real. I thank Cheese and the Titas for telling this story again in a way that resonates to today’s
generation.” Juan Ekis writes.

Twenty Questions will run from September 6-7 at the Kota Study Center, with an 8pm performance on the
6th, and 3pm and 8pm shows on the 7th.

Tickets can be purchased through teeq.live at P800 each for orders up to 2 tickets, P750 each for orders
of 3 to 10 tickets, and P700 each for orders of 11 tickets or more.
