At last night’s episode of ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, Tony Award winners Neil Patrick Harris and James Corden himself battle it out through a Broadway Musical Riff-off!

Harris began by saying, “We have a score to settle, and it’s about, Broadway.”

Harris is well-known in the Broadway community for hosting The Tony Awards four times– in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his starring role in the 2014 revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The musical also went on to winning for Best Revival of a Musical.

Corden has also won a Tony Award in 2012 for Best Actor in a Play for his role in the comedy, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’.

‘The Filharmonic’, a Fil-Am a cappella group, sang the back-up vocals during the epic riff-off. The group is known for making it to the semi-finals of NBC’s ‘The Sing-off’, and for being featured in the movie Pitch Perfect 2, where they sang a Tagalog version of the song ‘Any Way You Want It’ during a medley with ‘The Pentatonix’ and other international a cappella groups. The group consists of singers Vj Rosales, Joe Caigoy, Trace Gaynor, and Barry Fortgang, with vocal bassist Jules Cruz, and beat boxer Niko Del Rey.

Songs included in the riff-off were ‘Sit Down Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’ from ‘Guys and Dolls’, ‘Everything’s Coming Up Roses’ from ‘Gypsy’, ‘Being Alive’ from ‘Company’, ‘On My Own’ from ‘Les Miserables’, ‘All that Jazz’ from ‘Chicago,’ ‘Sugar Daddy’ from ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ (a song that Harris sings in the musical), and a duet of ‘My Shot’ from ‘Hamilton’.
