9 Works Theatrical is set to restage the musical Tick, Tick… Boom! this August 2023 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza.

The company first staged the Jonathan Larson musical in October 2016, starring Jef Flores as Jon, Tanya Manalang as Susan, and Ariel Reonal as Michael. No word yet whether they will be reprising their roles for the upcoming run.

Robbie Guevara is also set to return to direct the restaging, with Mio Infante also returning as scenographer.

Set in the early 1990s, Tick, Tick… BOOM! is the story of Jon, a struggling musical composer, who has yet to make his mark on Broadway and questions the life decisions he has made. His girlfriend, Susan, a dancer, who teaches ballet to “wealthy and untalented children” suggests leaving New York to raise a family while pursuing a different career. His best friend, Michael, is a marketing research executive, who was once an aspiring actor.

A 2021 film adaptation starring Andrew Garfield as Jon, Alexandra Shipp as Susan, and Robin de Jesús as Michael, is also streaming on Netflix. It is directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, with a screenplay by Steven Levenson.

Casting, ticketing details, and other show details will be announced soon.
