‘The Princess and the Frog’ Musical TV Series is Happening
Another classic Disney film is getting the Disney+ tv series treatment!
During #DisneyPlusDay, the streaming platform shared the first concept art of the upcoming series on Twitter. Titled “Tiana”, it is described as a “long-form musical series”, it will be directed and written by Stella Meghie.

The show will follow the newly-crowned Princess of Maldonia as she sets off on a new adventure. The original film originally came out in 2009, starring Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, and John Goodman.
The new musical series is expected to stream on the platform in 2023.
As for Disney+ being available in the Philippines, expansion of the platform to our territory is definitely in the cards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the service is expected to “switch on” within the year. Other sources are also stating it will most likely be available sometime in 2022 along with its expansion to Vietnam.
