With nearly 25 years of productions in the United States and the Dominican Republic, The Miracle of Fatima is set to make its Philippine premiere this December at the Miracle Theater, Sta. Lucia Grand Mall East Building 2.

The story takes place on May 13, 1917, in Fatima, Portugal. Under an ever-watchful, anti-clerical regime, three children witness the appearance of a beautiful woman who claims to be from heaven. She reveals prophecies to all three children and shows the youngest visions of future famine and wars. The woman promises a great miracle during her final visit, to prove the truth of the children’s claims.

As word spreads, the crowds grow larger each month, and by August, thousands gather to witness the events. Fearing another peasant uprising, the government orders the local mayor to put an end to the growing frenzy, leading him to take drastic measures. However, the children remain steadfast in their belief, and on October 13, 1917, nearly 70,000 people witness the Miracle of the Sun. The occurrence leaves people puzzled—how the children knew the exact time and place of the miracle, and how rain-soaked clothing and muddy ground suddenly became dry, remains unexplained.

Why did she come? According to the children, she came to offer humanity a remedy for peace on earth.
