‘Si Maria Isabella nan an Buradol san mga Bituon’ Coming to Sorsogon in April 2025

Si Maria Isabella nan an Buradol san mga Bituon, a Waray-Sorsogon translation of Eljay Castro Deldoc’s Si Maria Isabella at ang Guryon ng mga Tala, based on Dean Francis Alfar’sThe Kite of Stars, will be staged by Tabsing Kolektib PH from April 10 at 7 PM and April 11 to 13 at 1 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM at the Caree Hotel Function Hall, Zone 2, Bulan, Sorsogon.

Originally debuting at The Virgin Labfest in 2015, Si Maria Isabella at ang Guryon ng mga Tala has since been staged by various professional and university-based theater groups.

This one-act play follows 15-year-old Maria Isabella, who falls in love with Lorenzo—a boy who always keeps his eyes closed, except when looking at the stars. In hopes of winning his heart, Maria Isabella embarks on a quest with a 14-year-old butcher boy to gather the materials needed to build a giant kite. Determined to attach herself to it, she dreams of soaring into the sky so that Lorenzo will finally see her.

The cast features Zyrill Arisga, Aljo Alunan, Ivon Abarnas, Joshua Godalle, Drew Espenocilla, Lorens Grieta, Maricris Gepiga, Noel Oro, Jesusa Catarungan, Heide Geralde, James Carl Bernas, Christian Mark Bernas, and Ruzzi Joi Gabelo.
