‘Shrek The Musical’ Reveals its Young and Teen Fionas
Newport World Resorts has officially revealed the young actresses who will join the cast as Young Fiona and Teen Fiona in Shrek The Musical.
The announcement follows a weekend of auditions held on July 19 and 20 at the Academy for Leisure and Tourism in Newport World Resorts. Dozens of aspiring performers belted out “I Know It’s Today” in front of the show’s creative team, all vying to portray the younger versions of Fiona.
Selected to alternate as Young Fiona are Nela Quilloy Cu Unjieng, Tiffany Criss Ching, and Althea Ruedas. Cast as Teen Fiona are Daniella Albano, Lois Bersalona, Simone Valderrama Martinez, and Crystalia Jaya.
Shrek The Musical is based on the DreamWorks Animation motion picture and the book by William Steig. It features a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, with music by Jeanine Tesori. The musical was originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions.
The Manila staging opens on October 31 and currently runs through December.
