Shakespeare and Acting Through Song Masterclass to Run on September 1
The Playbook Club, a grassroots production house of artists and actors staging theater productions, producing short films, and hosting weekly script reading nights (in-person/online), is hosting a twin bill workshop masterclass on September 1 at the Opera Haus in Makati.
The first session is a Shakespeare Masterclass conducted by George Stagnell, an actor, singer, and voiceover artist based in London. Stagnell will lead a Shakespearean monologue masterclass in a group setting, with the goal of demystifying the language and exploring the text’s various facets. It will be held on September 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Opera Haus, 3657 Bautista St., Makati, Philippines. The tuition fee is P3,000.
Following this, there will be an Acting Through Song Masterclass conducted by Melisa Camba, a London-based actor and vocal coach. Camba will teach an intensive session that combines singing and acting through song techniques, including workshopping songs, exploring text, and experimenting with interpretation. This session will be held on September 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Opera Haus, 3657 Bautista St., Makati, Philippines. The tuition fee is also P3,000.
Both artists are also set to perform in a one-night-only Broadway concert tomorrow evening at the Manila Symphony Orchestra Recital Hall in Circuit Makati.
For those interested in attending both masterclasses, a bundle deal is available for P5,500. Reservations can be made through The Playbook Club’s Google Form.
