Sara Bareilles Set to Perform ‘In Memoriam’ at the Oscars
Tony and six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles is set to perform the ‘In Memoriam’ tribute at the 89th Academy Awards tomorrow.
The ‘In Memoriam’ tribute is an annual segment at the Oscars where The Academy honors the talents (filmmakers, artists, executives) they’ve recently lost.
Bareilles has most recently announced that she will be performing the lead role in her hit musical Waitress from March 31 to June 11, 2017, after Jessie Mueller takes her final bow as Jenna Hunterson on March 26, 2017. She was most recently nominated for Best Original Score for the musical at last year’s Tony Awards, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album at the recently concluded Grammy Awards.
Other performers set to perform at the Oscars are the nominees for Best Original Song– Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli’i Cravalho for Moana’s ‘How Far I’ll Go’ and John Legend for La La Land’s ‘Audition (The Fools Who Dream)’ and ‘City of Stars’.
Also performing are Sting for Jim: The James Foley Story’s ‘The Empty Chair’, and Justin Timberlake for Trolls’ ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’.
You can catch the 89th Academy Awards live at 8am tomorrow on HBO.
