REP’s ‘Carousel’ Full Cast Announced
Repertory Philippines has just released the full cast for its upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel.
As previously reported, playing the leads are Gian Magdangal, who will be playing the role of Billy Bigelow, and Karylle Tatlonghari, who will be playing the role of Julie Jordan.
Joining them are Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, who will be playing Julie Jordan’s close friend, Carrie Pipperidge, and Lorenz Martinez, who will be playing Carrie’s love interest, Mr. Enoch Snow. Mia Bolaños will be playing the role of Nettie, Julie’s cousin and confidant, and Noel Rayos, will be playing Billy’s seaman friend, Jigger Craigin.
Also in the cast are Roxy Aldiosa as Mrs. Mullin, Red Nuestro as Bascombe, Gia Gequinto as Louise, Julio Laforteza (dancer), and Cara Barredo, Steven Hotchkiss, Paula Paguio, and Roby Malubay as members of the ensemble. Kyla Rivera-Soong, who is the show’s Assistant Director, is cast as the female swing and Czar Decena is cast as the male swing.
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel follows the whirlwind romance of carnival barker Billy Bigelow and millworker Julie Jordan, featuring songs such as If I Loved You and You’ll Never Walk Alone. It will be the first live production of Repertory Philippines since the pandemic shutdowns.
The show is directed by Toff de Venecia, with musical direction by Ejay Yatco. It will run from November 26-December 18 at the new CCP Black Box Theater. Tickets are available through Ticketworld.
