Perform Songs from 21st Century Musicals in February’s “Broadway Open Mic”
Sixteen Bars is reprising the theme Thoroughly Modern for its next Broadway Open Mic.
First done in November 2017, guests of Thoroughly Modern, The Reprise: Broadway Open Mic are invited to bring selections, either songs and scenes, from their favorite shows which were first performed in the year 2000 or later.
Whether you’ve been dying to belt out selections from recent Tony Award-winning musicals like Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Next to Normal, or Spring Awakening, a crowd-pleaser from the likes of Mean Girls, Be More Chill, The Lightning Thief, or Heathers, or lesser-known material from shows like The Mad Ones, 35mm: A Musical Exhibition, Ordinary Days, or I Love You Because, take a chance because the possibilities are endless.
The open mic will be held on February 1, 2020 at Talabs Resto Bar (Gil Fernando Ave., cor. Dragon St., San Roque, Marikina City). Registration opens at 6:00PM, and the event proper runs from 7:00PM to 1:00AM. Entrance fee is P250 (P100 consumable for drinks), inclusive of one non-transferrable performance slot per guest. Performance slots are given on a first-come, first-serve basis, and will only be reserved upon registration at the venue.
