As previously reported, CAST PH’s 2024 season line-up includes two fully staged productions of Shakespeare’s Othello and a new original play entitled Patintero Sa Ayala Avenue.

Patintero Sa Ayala Avenue, which will run this June, revolves around a sixteen-year-old boy who is kicked out of school and spends a night on the town in Poblacion to find out what happens to the lights on Ayala Avenue after Christmas. It stars Mad Child Productions co-producer, Zoë de Ocampo, and Teia Contreras.

The show is written by Rafael Jimenez, who also directs the professional premiere. Joining him are Rafa Sumilong for lighting design, CAST PH’s Artistic Director and Co-Founder Nelsito Gomez for sound design, and CAST PH Co-Founder Sarah Facuri as set consultant.

The company’s staging of Shakespeare’s Othello, which will run this October, will be directed by Nelsito Gomez. Exploring themes of jealousy, betrayal, and racism, the play revolves around the Moorish general Othello, his ensign Iago, and the destructive consequences of Iago’s manipulation.

The show features Tarek El Tayech as Othello, Gab Pangilinan as Desdemona, Maronne Cruz as Emilia, and Reb Atadero as Iago. They are joined by Davy Narciso as Cassio, Rafael Jimenez as Rodrigo, Dippy Arceo as Bianca, MC Dela Cruz as the Duke of Venice/Lodovico, and Rhenwyn Gabalonzo as Brabantio/Montano.

Completing the creative team are D Cortezano for lighting design, Myke Salomon for sound design, and Sarah Facuri for set and costume design.

Specific dates and official venues will be announced soon. Follow cast_ph on Instagram and CAST PH on Facebook for future announcements.
