One Night Stand Cabaret Returns with ‘QUEERDOM’ this Pride Month
This June, in celebration of Pride Month, One Night Stand Cabaret returns with QUEERDOM, a one-night-only cabaret featuring some of Philippine theater’s brightest queer artists.
The performers for QUEERDOM include Mijon Cortez (Spring Awakening, Bar Boys: The Musical), Shaun Ocrisma (Bar Boys: The Musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Liway Perez (The Man of La Mancha, Delia D.), Lance Reblando (Walang Aray, Rent), Mikaela Regis (A Chorus Line, Quomodo Desolata Es?), Baus Rufo (Dogshow Divas, Noted with Thanks Improv), Rendell Sanchez (Walang Aray, Ateneo blueREP’s Legally Blonde), and Iya Villanueva (A Chorus Line, Si Faust).
The evening will feature a mix of musical theater favorites, “miscast performances” — where performers take on songs traditionally assigned to characters of a different gender, age, or type — and songs tied to the performers’ personal stories and lived experiences.
Audiences can expect songs from Rent, The Color Purple, Smash, Dear Evan Hansen, Kinky Boots, Mean Girls, The Greatest Showman, Next to Normal, A Chorus Line, Shucked, Mamma Mia!, Amélie, and more.
The show is directed by Phi Palmos, with musical direction by Farley Asuncion.
QUEERDOM will take place on June 16, 2026 (Tuesday), 7:30 PM, at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Estancia at Capitol Commons, Ortigas, Pasig City.
Door charge is Php1,000. For table reservations, contact 12 Monkeys at 0917-570-3222.
No repeats. No reruns. Just a One Night Stand.
Past One Night Stand Cabaret performances may be viewed on the group’s official YouTube channel.
One Night Stand Cabaret (fondly called ONS) — previously called One Night Stand: A Monthly Cabaret — was established in April 2015. Known for its intimate concert format, the cabaret series brings together performers from Philippine theater for one-night-only themed evenings of storytelling and song, often highlighting both classic and contemporary musical theater repertoire.
The latest ONS show took place on March 17 with HERSTORY, staged in celebration of Women’s Month. Performers included Thea Astley, Sheena Belarmino, Jam Binay, Miah Canton, Neomi Gonzales, and Marynor Madamesila, with special guest Gab Pangilinan.
