Now Streaming: ‘The Nice List’ Full Musical is Online
The Nice List, a one-act holiday musical featuring a cast of Broadway stars, will be streaming for free this month.
Directed by Alan Muroka, with book and lyrics by Phoebe Kreutz, music by Gary Adler, and choreography by Michael Mindlin, The Nice List is set in Santa’s workshop at the North Pole where the Elves have to contend with some major changes during a unique holiday season.
The Nice List boasts of a stellar cast of Broadway veterans who have appeared in shows like Aladdin: Tony Award-winner James Monroe Iglehart, Telly Leung, and Don Darryl Rivera; Avenue Q: Ann Harada, Jennifer Barnhart, and Nick Kohn; and Godspell: Julia Mattison.
When Santa’s Head Elf, Chestnut (Leung), announces that the North Pole will be going virtual, all the elves in Santa’s workshop have to adjust to putting everything online. Santa himself (Iglehart) decides to supervise the season remotely this year, leaving the huge responsibility of managing the “Naughty and Nice List” to elves, Raisin (Harada) and Crumpet (Mattison), while workshop elves Cookie (Barnhart), Fruitcake (Kohn), and Gumdrop (Rivera) find themselves running low on Christmas Spirit.
Will the elves find a way to balance tradition with technology? And will they come to realize that no one is really all naughty or all nice?
According to producer Elliot Masie, The Nice List is meant to draw parallels between the Elves in Santa’s workshop and the millions of employees and families currently finding new ways of communicating and working remotely while also rediscovering the power of empathy, laughter, and music to bring joy and comfort during a truly difficult year.
The Nice List will stream for the whole month of December. Click here for more details.
