‘MAPANAK8!’ Spoken Word About Love, Heartbreak, and More to Run this March
Ampalaya Monologues returns to the stage for its 8th-anniversary celebration with MAPANAK8, a show that explores the intricate facets of love, heartache, and bitterness through the art of monologue and spoken word.
Since its inception in 2015, Ampalaya Monologues has been telling stories of love, heartbreak, and bitterness through monologues, music, and spoken word poetry. Ampalaya Monologues has not only been performed in various venues nationwide but has also been adapted into a book by Summit Media, transformed into a TV series by iWant TFC, and has a Spotify talk show produced by Viva’s Oomph Podcast.
From tales of resilience to introspections on identity and self-discovery, each performance in MAPANAK8 aims to offer a unique perspective on the human experience.
Performers from the past eight years of Ampalaya Monologues will be coming together alongside new Gen-Z artists for this year’s show. Audiences can also anticipate interactive elements, including audience participation segments and behind-the-scenes insights, which will invite attendees to engage with the artists and become integral parts of the storytelling process throughout the performance.
MAPANAK8 will run for two performances on March 2, 2024, 3pm and 7pm at Studio Justin Bella Alonte UPRC III Chino Roces Makati. For tickets and more information, visit https://ghets.ph.
