Jon M. Chu (In the Heights), who is currently directing the upcoming Wicked films, is set to direct a new film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Deadline reports.

The film adaptation is being developed for Amazon Studios, featuring a screenplay by Daniel Goldfarb. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the Biblical tale of Joseph the Dreamer and how the young man from Canaan came to become the Pharaoh’s trusted advisor in Egypt. It features memorable songs such as “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.”

The musical was first staged in the West End in 1973 and on Broadway in 1982. A film adaptation was released in 1999 based on the 1991 West End revival. It starred Donny Osmond as the titular character, with Maria Friedman as the narrator, Richard Attenborough as Jacob, and Joan Collins as Mrs. Potiphar.
