Joanna Ampil with Broadway Vets in Defying Gravity, Stephen Schwartz Concert

What we would give to be in Sydney on February 12 and 13; and for those who can, mark your calendars!

According to Academy Awards, Grammys and Drama Desk Awards winner Stephen Schwartz, who we have come to know and love for his Broadway works in Godspell and Wicked, will be highlighting his magnificent body of work through a concert production entitled “Defying Gravity: The Songs of Stephen Schwartz.” The concert will only be running for three performances on the 12th and 13th of February at the Theatre Royal Sydney.

The Philippines’ very own, incredibly talented West End star Joanna Ampil will be performing alongside theater greats such as Sutton Foster, Aaron Tveit, Helen Dallimore and David Harris. Tony Award-winning icon Betty Buckley will also make her debut performance in Sydney as a special guest star for the concert.

The concert will be featuring most of his incredible work, including songs that we all hold close to our hearts, like “When you Believe,” “Colors of the Wind,” and of course, “Defying Gravity.”

Such an amazing event happens quite rarely, so if you can, try to catch it. Meanwhile we will be praying that the video of the concert would be available to those who can’t watch.
