With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine—who also directed the original Broadway production—Into the Woods is a dark comedy that intertwines the journeys of several fairy tale characters. At its heart are a childless Baker and his Wife, who embark on a quest to lift a Witch’s curse preventing them from having a child. Their adventure unfolds into a spectacle that examines the consequences of choices and actions.

Previous Philippine productions of Into the Woods include a 1992 staging by Repertory Philippines and a 2015 staging by Upstart Productions.
