I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ by REP to Rerun in February 2025
REP’s staging of the Off-Broadway musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, which ran from June 14 to July 6 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza, is set to return from February 14 to March 9, 2025, this time at the new REP Eastwood Theater.
Helmed by director Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, the cast—Gian Magdangal, Krystal Kane, Gabby Padilla, and Marvin Ong, with Barbara Jance as the female swing—will reprise their roles. Together, they embody a total of 40 characters, ranging from big-city singles and awkward wallflowers to married couples and 80-year-old seniors looking for love.
Also in the creative team with Lauchengco-Yulo are Cara Barredo (Assistant Director), Ejay Yatco (Musical Director), Joey Mendoza (Set and Costume Designer), Meliton Roxas (Lighting Designer), Stephen Viñas (Choreographer), GA Fallarme (Projector Graphics and Video Designer), and Aji Manalo (Sound Designer).
With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Brooks, the musical presents a series of hilarious yet achingly familiar vignettes about connection and intimacy, commitment and loneliness. Premiering at the Westside Theatre in 1996, REP’s 2024 staging was set in a bustling metropolis where swiping left or right is the norm—touching on themes like chasing that invisible string in this era of situationships, ghosting, and reigniting the spark despite countless distractions.
Ticketing details will be announced soon.
