DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild presents Du La Salle 2k16: Rekonek, a collaboration between its guilders and alumni, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary. Featuring 4 one-act plays of distinct genres and concepts, DLS 2k16 merges into one colorful production that tackles important questions about love, life, God, sex, and sexuality.

Rekonek

Ang Unang Nagkasala

Eve bites the forbidden fruit, Adam panics at the anger of God, and the Dragon gets caught in the cycle of blame. In the midst of creation and its laws, God does not answer the age-old questions of man and punishes them instead. This comedic take on the Creation puts us at a different perspective of the nature of God, the Garden, and hell.

Unang Tikim

Ticang and her fellow band of “bandoleros” plan to descend Mount Banajao to bravely face the dangers of the Philippine-American War. But how far are they willing to sacrifice for their country? Is it worth betraying your homeland if it means being with the person you love?

Dalawahan

Maggie wants to find out “what happened”. She finds herself in a bed with a guy named Tony, as awkwardness fills the silence. Unrelenting with the questions she brought to that motel room, “it” finally happens to them. Will the answers be enough for what she’s about to feel?

Panaklong

Olivia invites her long-time best friends at Malaya Cafe for a small reunion. There, she plans to reveal the truth about who she is, but her friends struggle to accept her, forcing out classic arguments on identity and society. Does freedom really require acceptance? Will love be enough, or will this test break their friendship?
