Gloria Estefan Musical ‘On Your Feet!’ Set for Manila Run this July

9 Works Theatrical, in partnership with Rockwell, will stage the Southeast Asian premiere of On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan this July at the Proscenium Theater.

Directed by Robbie Guevara with musical direction by Daniel Bartolome, the musical tells the story of real-life couple Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan and their journey to global success.

Featuring music and lyrics by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, with songs popularized by Miami Sound Machine, and a book by Alexander Dinelaris Jr., the show is built around the music that helped bring Latin pop into the mainstream. Among the songs featured in the musical are “Anything for You,” “1-2-3,” “Conga,” and “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.”

On Your Feet! follows the Estefans from their early performing days in Miami to becoming international hitmakers. The story highlights their determination, creative partnership, and the personal and professional challenges they faced along the way.

The Broadway musical premiered in 2015 and tells the story behind many of the couple’s best-known songs. It also shows how key moments in their lives influenced the music that audiences around the world came to love.
