Last August 28, theater veteran Fred Lo (Mula sa Buwan, Dirty Old Musical, Rent) and the cast of One Night Stand’s Mad New Millennial took over our Instagram account!
Talented young millennials Lo, Becca Coates (Agnes of God, The Secret Garden), Fred Lo (Mula Sa Buwan, Dirty Old Musical), Micaela Pineda (Angry Christ, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), Vic Robinson (Sa Wakas, Tagu-taguan Nasaan Ang Buwan?), Teetin Villanueva (Kung Paano Maghiwalay, Ako Si Josephine), OJ Mariano (Rak of Aegis, Godspell), stage manager John Mark Yap, and musical director Ejay Yatco gave us a sneak peek into their rehearsals!
These theater veterans will be performing songs from today’s most talented millennial theater composers, such as Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, Edges), Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (Tales from the Bad Years, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown), Adam Gwon (Ordinary Days), and Joe Iconis (Rock and Roll Jamboree). Other cast members who will be performing at the much-awaited event are Laurence Mossman (Kinky Boots, Fun Home) and Alys Serdenia (AIDA, Rent).
Over the course of their month-long rehearsals, the cast have also played hilarious (and somewhat provocative) rounds of “Would You Rather” and “BeanBoozled” through Facebook Live. Get to know more about them here!
Don’t miss the anticipated event on September 5 at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in El Pueblo Real de Manila, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The show will be directed by millennial theater dramaturg Mahar Mangahas.
