‘Endo’ Stage Adaptation Coming in April 2026
A stage adaptation of Endo, based on the 2007 film and screenplay written and directed by Jade Castro, is set to premiere in April 2026 at the PETA Theater Center. The production will be presented by Ticket2Me in partnership with PETA Plus, with the stage version adapted by Liza Magtoto and directed by Melvin Lee.
The producers’ previous productions include Maxie the Musical: Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros (2013) and Children’s Plays for Adults (2015).
It has been eighteen years since Endo premiered at the 2007 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. Written and directed by Jade Castro, the film—whose title refers to “end-of-contract” labor—explored the reality of being hired and dismissed on schedule, while gradually shrinking one’s expectations for dreams, family, and even love.
In its 2026 stage incarnation, Endo takes on a varied form in which the gig economy rules, with workers chasing one job after another, attention fragmented, and algorithms measuring one’s worth. What was once “I’ll lose my job in five months” has become “I am always working, and still going nowhere.”
At the center, the story continues to follow Leo and Tanya, whose financial pressures seep into the smallest gestures of intimacy, testing love at its most fragile points.
The show features Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rissey Reyes-Robinson as Tanya, Royce Cabrera and Esteban Mara as Leo, and Kate Alejandrino-Juan and Iana Bernardez as Candy.
The ensemble cast includes Raflesia Bravo, Denmark Brinces, Kirby Dunnzell, Ekis Gimenez, Carlon Matobato, Jacinta Pascual, Noelle Polack, Niño Royeca, Nikki Soriano, and Teetin Villanueva.
Joining Lee and Magtoto on the creative team are Christine Crame as choreographer; Kabaitan Bautista as music director, composer, and sound designer; D Cortezano as production designer; David Esguerra as lighting designer; John Carlo V. Pagunaling as costume designer; and Eric V. Dela Cruz as dramaturg.
Endo will run from April 10 to May 10, 2026, at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City. Tickets are priced at P2,700 (VIP), P2,700 (Balcony Center – lower), P2,500 (Orchestra Center), P2,200 (Orchestra Side), and P1,600 (Balcony Center – upper; Balcony Side), and are now available via Ticket2Me.
