‘Delia D: A Dragtastic Musical’ Announces Open Auditions for October 8
Newport World Resorts’ upcoming musical, which, as previously reported, will open in April 2025 and will feature the songs of songwriter and music producer Jonathan Manalo, has officially unveiled its title.
Delia D: A Dragtastic Musical, which stars Phi Palmos, will hold open auditions on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. The musical is the 11th major theatrical production from Newport World Resorts’ production outfit, Full House Theater Company.
On the audition day, registration begins at 9 AM and ends at 4 PM at the entrance of El Calle Food & Music Hall. This nationwide casting call invites theater enthusiasts ages 17 to 50, with talents in both singing and dancing.
For the singing audition, candidates must prepare 32 bars from a musical of their choice that best highlights their vocal range. The dance audition will require learning and performing a routine on the spot. Applicants should come prepared with a CV and a 3R photo, and must be available from February 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025, for rehearsals and performances.
Teasers for the new musical began earlier this June, when Newport World Resorts gave audiences a sneak peek during the final curtain call of Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical, where Phi Palmos performed the song “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw.”
